Patronage; Martyrs, Weavers & Poisoning

Second Century - 304 AD
Feast Day: December 25

Historically little is known about this saint. She is commemorated by name in the Cannon of the Mass. She is venerated for her healing abilities. She cared for prisoners who were imprisoned because of their Christian faith. She feed and often cured them of illnesses and poisonings. Upon her husbands death she gave her possessions to those less fortunate. St. Anastasia was told she must renounce her faith. She refused. She had many tortures inflicted upon her but she seemed to escape most of them until she was finally killed for her steadfast belief and faith.

"Holy Father you are the master weaver of our lives weaving in colors I might not see or comprehend until the tapestries that we are, are done and we are homeward bound. As a weaver, I sit at my loom and I rejoice in the rhythm and colors I weave praying that they will be of benefit to the one who is touched by them. Through St. Anastasia’s example may my faith remain steadfast."
